# A voice-activated teleprompter that scrolls as you speak

Read at your own pace. It keeps the word you're on at eye level, waits when you pause, and finds you again after an ad-lib.

A voice-activated teleprompter listens as you read and scrolls the script at your pace, then waits when you pause. In FoxCue it lives in the Studio teleprompter, with Cloud or fully private on-device voice tracking. Scripts are written from your own sources, and each take goes straight into the editor.

## How voice tracking keeps your place

It compares what you just said with the script, a little behind and ahead of where you are.

### It listens to your last ten words

FoxCue matches the last ten words you said against the script, from five words behind your place to sixteen ahead.

### It moves when you do

Two matching words in a row, or the very next word, and it moves on. The word you're on sits on the reading line, about 40% down.

### It waits when you stop

Pause to think, take a sip, or start a sentence again. The script stays where you left it.

### It finds you after an ad-lib

Go off script, then come back, and it locks on again after two or three matching words. Skip ahead and it jumps up to forty words to follow.

### It ignores your cues

Anything in brackets, like [pause] or a slide cue, isn't expected to be spoken, so it never waits for you to read it.

## Cloud or on-device

Pick the engine that fits your browser and how private you need the audio to be.

| | Cloud (default) | On-device |
| --- | --- | --- |
| How it hears you | Your browser's speech service | A speech model running in your browser |
| Privacy | Audio is processed in the cloud | Fully private, audio stays on your computer |
| Browsers | Chrome and Edge | Any modern browser |
| Setup | Instant, needs internet | About 40 MB, downloaded once per session |
| Language | English (US) | English |

## Set it up for your eyes and your camera

Size, opacity, font and how the current word is marked, all saved for next time.

- Text size 18–64 and panel opacity 20–100%
- Serif, Sans or Bold
- Mark the current word with a fill, underline or bold
- Colours chosen to stay distinct for colour-blind readers

## Your next slide, one tap away

Cues in your script light up as you reach them. Tap once to show a slide, share your screen or spotlight something.

- A NOW and NEXT dock under the script
- Slide, screen, link and spotlight cues
- Reminder cues that stay silent

## Camera, screen and slides in one take

Record full camera, split, screen with camera, or slides, with the teleprompter on top. It's never part of the recording.

## Straight into the editor

- **[Clean up the take](https://foxcue.com/ai-video-editor/remove-filler-words/)**: Fillers, dead air and retakes cut after you review.
- **[Edit by asking](https://foxcue.com/ai-video-editor/agents/)**: Tell Studio Agent what to change and apply it.
- **[Cut a Short](https://foxcue.com/ai-video-editor/shorts-maker/)**: Problem, stakes, fix, framed for vertical.

## Where voice tracking lives

### What it does

- Follows your voice in FoxCue Studio
- Runs fully on-device if you choose
- Mirrors the text for glass
- Stays out of the recording

### What it doesn't

- Work in the free online teleprompter
- Need a person running the scroll
- Read languages other than English
- Generate avatars or voices

## Questions

### Is there a teleprompter that follows your voice?

Yes. The teleprompter in FoxCue Studio listens as you read, keeps your place and waits when you pause. It can run in the cloud or fully on your device.

### Does the free online teleprompter have voice tracking?

No. The free teleprompter on foxcue.com scrolls at a fixed speed. Voice tracking is in FoxCue Studio.

### What is an AI teleprompter?

A teleprompter that uses speech recognition to follow your reading instead of scrolling at a set speed. FoxCue's also pairs it with scripts written from your sources.

### What happens if I go off script?

It waits. When you come back to the script, it locks on again after two or three matching words. If it ever loses you, press Restart.

### Can AI write my teleprompter script?

Yes. FoxCue writes scripts from the docs and pages you add, checked for claims your sources don't support, and ready to open in the teleprompter.
